The hotel was built in 1961 for senior government ministers and
foreigners, and it was honoured with The International Diamond
Award by The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences from 2006 to
2008. The new renovation in 2006 combined historical, cultural and
modern design concepts to create a brand new image. All the
facilities here are specially designed for business guests: 699
brand new business-style guestrooms, the biggest hotel C and E
centre in Guangzhou, over 20 medium and small function rooms, a 10
000 m² central garden in semitropical style and a 800 m² sunshine
swimming pool. Fully air-conditioned, the hotel welcomes guests
into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel
safe, cloakroom, lift access, newspaper stand and a hairdressing
salon. Other shared facilities include a cafe, bar, restaurant,
Internet access, room and laundry services (both for an additional
fee), as well as a car park and garage.
Rooms
The room categories include deluxe rooms, superior business rooms
and a range of luxury suites. Guestrooms with different views are
equipped with the most modern facilities to make travelling more
convenient. Each room features an en suite bathroom with shower,
bathtub and hairdryer, as well as a double or king-size bed, direct
dial telephone, satellite TV and Internet access. Other in-room
amenities include a safe, minibar/fridge, tea and coffee making
facilities, ironing set and air conditioning and central
heating.
Restaurant & Food
Jiang Nan Si Zhu Restaurant provides different regional specialties
in a romantic atmosphere and different kinds of flavours from the
south to north of China can be sampled here. The lobby bar Nice is
a place for relaxation and the ambience is cultured by beautiful
piano music. Coffee, snacks and beverage are served there. The
restaurant serves a breakfast buffet each morning while lunch and
dinner are available from set menus or as a buffet.
Activities & Sport
The hotel's fitness centre comprises an aerobics exercise area,
dancing room and ping pong room. In the Wine and Cigar House guests
may choose to take a Cuban cigar, or drink a glass of wine on a
sunny afternoon. There is an open-air swimming pool accompanied by
the Boat Bar, wavy massage chair, massage bed and a large platform
for sightseeing. The pool uses ozone-protective advanced technology
to make sure the water is clean enough to reach the standard of
drinking water. Squash facilities are also available.
