Exterior: An historic building that conserves the original façade
of the palace built on this site in 1929, when Barcelona was
celebrating its second Universal Exhibition. The exhibition?s
gardens, which added character to a large part of Montjuic, were
designed by Forestier, and are an authentic display of the most
representative species of the Mediterranean coast. The palace,
designed by the famous architect Ramon Raventós and inaugurated by
King Alfonso XIII, was the scene of elegant banquets and balls up
until 1959. In 2006, following an imaginative restoration directed
by the famous architect Óscar Tusquets , the palace recuperated its
original elegance and glory, with the addition of a brilliant
avant-garde décor and a broad range of deluxe services

Directions, How to get
there
Guests coming via one of the city's many motorways, take the Ronda
Litoral and leave at exit 21. The exit ends in a large roundabout.
Approximately half-way round, take the third road on the right to
leave the roundabout (Calle Josep Carner). From this road, there
are two ways to get to the hotel. Either you take the 2nd road to
the right (Passeig Montjuic) till you reach the hotel, or continue
down C/Josep Carner and turn into Avenida Miramar after the traffic
lights. Before the hotel there is a short incline. Coming from the
airport, take the train and get off at Plaza Espanya. Then take bus
no. 50 to Plaza Carlos Ibañez. The journey takes around 45 minutes.
Another possibility is the blue Aerobús which leaves from in front
of Terminal A to Plaza Espanya. Then take bus no. 50.
