The resort is in a desirable location, midway between the capital
city and the lively village of Grand Baie. The rooms are in
excellent condition, all with a sea view, and the facilities are
all you would expect and more. The spa, housed in nearly 900
squared metres, is the perfect spot to relax and unwind, offering
all the traditional treatments plus yoga, tai chi and
meditation.
Exterior: Typical concrete blocks of rooms, accented by tropical
gardens, are surrounded by the large pool and various restaurants
and bars. The property is situated on a long stretch of beach with
calm waters for swimming.
Lobby: The Asian-inspired lobby is large in size and decorated with
dark furnishings and wood. At the lobby bar, there is plenty of
room to sit and relax over a drink and the main restaurant is
adjacent to the bar.
Rooms
All rooms feature a separate seating area, a king-size bed or two
queen-size beds, tea and coffee making facilities, a 42-inch plasma
TV with satellite/cable channels, a minibar, an iron and ironing
board, and an in-room safe. The en suite bathroom comes with a
separate bathtub and shower and a hairdryer. Guests will also find
a direct dial telephone, Internet access and individually regulated
air conditioning and heating. Each room has a balcony or
terrace.
Restaurant & Food
The resort offers guests a choice of three restaurants, featuring
international, Mauritian, seafood and Mediterranean cuisine. The
main restaurant, located off the lobby, serves both a buffet
breakfast and dinner with live cooking stations. The beach
restaurant serves an a la carte lunch and dinner in a casual
setting overlooking the Indian Ocean. The third restaurant, located
towards the end of the resort, offers a Mediterrean-inspired menu
for dinner complimented by a specially selected wine list.
Activities & Sport
Beyond simple relaxation afforded by the sand and sea, the hotel
offers several games, different sport activities and excursions
that range from glass-bottom boat tours to snorkelling and scuba
diving. The Asian-inspired Taamra spa and fitness centre features
saunas, steam rooms, power body showers, a cold plunge pool, a hot
tub, massage rooms, aerobic facilities and a gym with a range of
exercise equipment. The spa's focus is on natural and organic
ingredients with treatments based on the ancient mantras of
Ayurveda. Guests may take an invigorating dip or join an aqua fit
session in the outdoor swimming pool, whilst children can enjoy
their own swimming area. Refreshments are available at the poolside
snack bar. Sun loungers and parasols have been laid out at the
hotel and on the beach for use. Water sport lovers can make use of
the facilities provided for waterskiing, jet skiing, windsurfing,
motor boating and pedal boating. Tennis, table tennis,
pool/snooker, beach volleyball and bocce are further leisure
options.
