The hotel is located approximately 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Oldmeldrum town centre, which offers restaurants, bars and a park. Bus connections are also available 800 m away in Oldmeldrum, and nearby attractions include Fyvie Castle, Haddo House & Gardens, the Lochter Fisheries and Visitor Centre and Pitmedden Gardens. The Glen Garioch Distillery is around a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and shopping opportunities can be found in Inverurie, which is roughly 15 minutes' drive away. The beach at Aberdeen is approximately 30 minutes' drive from the hotel and Bennachie is around 15 minutes away by car. Inverurie Railway Station is 9 km away and Aberdeen Airport is 23 km from the hotel.

The hotel was constructed in 1236 and was last renovated in 2010. This beautiful, air-conditioned country house hotel comprises a total of 27 rooms.
